Tina Pic- Ok, here we go..I'd like to thank Chris, cause you so sexy, and to
mom and dad. And all my adoring fans such as: Laura Van Gilder, cause you are a perfect drag racer. To Candice
Blickem for the "molecules". To Grace Fleury for the stinky "molecules." To Helen Kelly for the atomic bomb "molecules."
To Annette for the zipping effect and bag scrummaging at 5am. Audrey, for just being so hip and teaching the granny a few
fashion tips. And to Sarah for the buckwheat biscuits that cause the "molecules."
Laura Van Gilder- I'd like to thank Rick Ball, who introduced me to cycling
and has guided me through the years. To my family for their support and encouragement. Thanks to Karen Bliss for
being the rider I looked up to when I first began racing, for giving me someone to look up to and is now the friend and
confidant who helps me remain focused on my goals. Thanks to Navigators Insurance and those people involved with the program, who have supported me in so many ways duuring my career through their sponsorship
and friendship.
Helen Kelly- My husband Bob recognised my potential as a cyclist when I was a recreational triathlete. He coached me in triathlons in
1998-99 and then in 2000 we swapped to road cycling. I
want to thank him for his patience, his coaching and support as he took me from a total beginner to an internationally
recognised rider. Bob handed me over to John Beasley at the Victorian Institute of Sport in Melbourne in 2003.
John is a fantastic coach and person. I would like to
thank him for the hours of training he so willingly provides. He is a tough coach, especially his motor pace sessions,
but he knows how to bring my strengths out and I am looking forward to developing further, under his guidance
Grace Fleury- I would like to thank God for giving me so
many opportunities to do something I love and for the gift of His son Jesus Christ. I would like to thank my husband,
Dre', and family for encouraging me in the good times and the tough times. Thank you to everyone in Southern Pines and
at Rainbow Cycles and Ken's Bike Shop for encouraging me and helping me out again and again. I would also like to thank
everyone from Genesis for 2 great years. Thanks to Sue Palmer Komar and Mike Skop for coaching me.
Annette Beutler-To say thank you for all the help to one person. It's Christian,
my trainer. Since winter 2003 we worked together. Season 2004 was a special year for me. I had a lot of good races. In this
year, I learned how close is happines and disapointement! The next few years I will work with him till the Olympic Games in
Peking.
Candice Blickem- Thanks to Mike Skop for saving me from the military by offering
me a spot on his team to begin my cycling career. Thanks to Dale Brown of Cycles de Oro for giving me my first free
bike and entry fees. To Ken and Matt at Ken's Bike Shop for everything you all do. Thanks to my boyfriend, Chris Foster for supporting ME and this obsession. Also, for
motivating me to ride and for being my #1 fan. To Tom Schuler for the opportunity to continue to race, with a new team.
To Michael Engleman for taking the iniative to coach me. To my parents for the inital financial support . And to my
brother Ryan for putting the sparkle of racing in my eye.
Audrey Lemieux- Through the years many people offered me their support to become a good
person and a great cyclist. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate what all of you have done, and what you continue
to do for me. Thanks to all my family and friends, to both Quebec and the Canadian Cycling Association, to my support committee,
to my first cycling club members (Club Cycliste Proco d’Alma), and to all cyclist fans who follow my career. Thank
you so much. I also give a special thanks to my coach, Nicolas, and my sports manager Pascal. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
Sarah Uhl- I would like to thank Candice Blickem for bringing sheer force
to the women's peloton. She has inspired me to be everything that I have become. Next to Candice, my parents
are namely responsible for my obstreperous nature. I don't know if I ever would have had the courage to stick my wheel
into the "right places" if I hadn't previously been exposed to frost bitten toes and other "extreme" ventures as a child.
I've been lucky in cycling. Key individuals have liked me, helped me, and shared insight along the way. I
am a student of the sport, and I hope to keep learning and keep sharing what wisdom may come. Most importantly, I thank
Nicole Reinhart for showing all of us how powerful a smile can be.
